The socks are a sunnah of the prophet (saw)
You firstly make Wudhu (Ablution ) then wear the socks
When you next break your wudhu you can then perform masah over your leather socks.
PERFORMING MASAH OVER SOCKS :
- Perform Wudhu like you normally do except the feet to do Masah
- Wet your hands with water
- Starting from the upper tip of your toes to the ankles, move the hand along the socks for ablution
- Use the right hand once for the right socks and left hand once for the left socks.
Those who are not travelling can perform masah over their socks for up to 24 hour period
The period for travellers is 3 days or up to 72 hours
